Influence of Bamboo Fibers Weight Fraction on the Quasi-Static and Dynamic Compressive Responses of Epoxy Matrix Composites

The influences of natural bamboo fibers (BFs) weight fraction on the microstructure, quasi-static and dynamic compressive responses epoxy resin matrix composites were investigated with aid scanning electron microscope, electronic universal testing machine modified Split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) setup. properties BFs/epoxy suggested that strength strongly improved addition BFs, which was attributed to excellent strengthening effect. When BFs content increased up 15 wt.%, compression ratio showed 11% reduction than unmodified resin. Moreover, stress strain linear at initial part but nonlinear when exceeds a certain value. SHPB impact tests results indicated that, compared pristine resin, reinforced composite wt.% exhibited highest strength, modulus best Epoxy also an obvious effect rate effective under load.
